The EPA says “Clean up the Mold”
Have you heard that catchy jingle on the radio lately? Maybe you don’t listen to the same radio stations I do, but for the last few months I’ve been hearing the same ad, brought to you by the ad council and the EPA. It talks about preventing asthma attacks in children, and the campaign has three main areas of focus: getting people not to smoke in their houses, getting them to vacuum carpets more often, and the one that stood out to me, which was to clean up the mold or mildew in your home. So apparently, the EPA and the ad council now think that there is some benefit to cleaning up mold and mildew in your house. I think this is good advice for people, and it helps validate some of the things we tell customers. Now this campaign is simple, and doesn’t go into details about how you should go about cleaning up the mold. That’s where we can help! If you have questions about mold and how to clean it up, a mold inspection is a great way to get started. We’ll meet with you at your home and go over where the mold is, how extensive it is, and how we would go about removing it safely. Mold is never a good thing, regardless of the type of mold, and it can cause issues, including asthma in your kids.
